This portrait of a working cowboy, is of no one person per say. In my rodeo days, and later on in my ranching and cowboying. I came across many men of strong individualism. I decided if I was going to do a piece of a working cowboy, it would have all the strengths of many of the men I knew. The hands are of a rancher down the valley, the eyes my rodeo partner, the hat and scarf worn by another neighbor, and the can of chew another friend I rode with. The young and ornery eyes of a man who is still a boy, with the strength and skill to do a man's work.
